Scars

ScarsScars, unfortunately, are permanent. Lasers, however, can improve their appearance. If a scar is raised or red, then lasers can help soften, flatten, and blend the scar. At the OHSU Department of Dermatology in Portland, Oregon we offer laser surgery to help treat scaring. The treatments typically take three to five sessions.

Tattoos

Tattoos come in many different colors, and to treat them effectively, different types of lasers are needed. The OHSU Department of Dermatology's Laser and Cosmetic Center in Portland, Oregon has four different pigment lasers to accommodate the removal of different color tattoos. Tattoo treatment typically takes multiple treatment sessions. Amateur tattoos usually take between two to four sessions, whereas professional tattoos can take six to twelve sessions. The sessions are separated by at least one month.
