Reducing facial redness with laser treament

Facial redness is a common problem. There are various conditions that create facial redness like rosacea and broken blood vessels, but the underlying cause of most facial redness is connected to vascular conditions. During your consultation, your provider will examine your skin and let you know what treatments are available to help reduce the appearance of your facial redness. The OHSU Laser and Cosmetic Center utilizes the V-beam Vascular Laser that was developed to treat vascular issues.

Rosacea

Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that can involve red patches on your face, flushing, tiny or prominent spider-like blood vessels or skin eruptions similar to acne.  While there are topical and oral medications that can help minimize the ongoing effects of rosacea, laser treatment can reduce the existing broken blood vessels, redness and flushing often associated with rosacea.

Broken blood vessels

Broken blood vessels on the face are one of the most common problems that can be easily treated with lasers. The V-beam Vascular Laser is designed to treat the cause of the redness and can eliminate these vessels usually in 1 to 2 short treatment sessions. There is minimal downtime or recovery period, with most people going back to work the same day. Since the laser chill tip keeps the skin cool during the procedure, there is minimal to no discomfort. The results are generally long lasting.
