North American Nail Surgery Course
One-of-a-kind new nail surgery course offered at OHSU
After receiving many requests to provide extended nail surgery education, Phoebe Rich, M.D., adjunct professor of dermatology, decided to move forward with a course to help provide additional training to practitioners who would like to feel more comfortable with the diagnosis and treatment of common and uncommon nail tumors and disorders. The course has been designed to be a practical learning opportunity with patient viewing opportunities and live surgeries that will be video streamed to the participants and include a full audio link so questions can be asked during the surgical process.
“We are very excited to be able to offer this content through such an interactive format and with such an outstanding faculty. I don’t think there is another course like this one anywhere outside of Europe,” says Dr. Rich. In addition to Dr. Rich, Nathaniel Jellinek, M.D., clinical assistant professor, Brown University, and adjunct clinical assistant professor, University of Massachusetts, an expert in nail surgery, and Antonella Tosti, M.D., professor of clinical dermatology, University of Miami Health System, another internationally known nail expert, will anchor the faculty.
Additional presenters include:
- Julianne Mann, M.D., assistant professor of dermatology at OHSU and associate program chair of the course, will add medical and surgical tips and tricks for pediatric patients;
- Sabra Leitenberger, M.D., assistant professor of dermatology at OHSU, will focus on pediatric conditions;
- Curtis Thompson, M.D., associate affiliate professor of dermatology at OHSU, will provide dermatopathology expertise;
- Sancy Leachman, M.D., Ph.D., professor and chair of dermatology at OHSU will provide an update on pachynychia congenital.
