Meet Dr. Herzig

Daniel Herzig, M.D. specializes in treating colorectal diseases and established the robotic colorectal surgery program at OHSU in order to offer the most comprehensive care available anywhere in the region.

"Robotic technology has allowed more complex pelvic surgery to be done for treatment of bladder, prostate, pelvic and gynecologic disorders. Robotic surgery can also offer more patients a minimally invasive approach to treating colorectal diseases and help to offer every option available to give our patients the best possible outcomes," he says.

Dr. Herzig joined the faculty at OHSU in 2005. He is part of the OHSU Digestive Health Center and the OHSU Cancer Institute. He specializes in the treatment of both cancerous and noncancerous diseases of the colon and rectum. Dr. Herzig is committed to providing the highest quality personal service to each individual. Because of this, he has been recognized as one of Portland's "Top Doctors" and has been named as one of "America's Top Surgeons."
