Urologic Oncology
Clinic Description
The OHSU Section of Urologic Oncology treats patients with all types of genito-urinary cancers. Our mission is to cure the patient while preserving the highest quality of life possible. The common malignancies treated include prostate, bladder, kidney, testis, and penile cancers. We also treat other rare malignancies such as adrenal cancers and other retroperitoneal and pelvic tumors. There are three fellowship trained Urologic Oncologists on the faculty based at the University Hospital: Christopher Amling, M.D., F.A.C.S., Theresa Koppie, M.D. and Jeffrey LaRochelle, M.D.
In addition to surgical treatment, we strongly believe in a multidisciplinary approach for cancer patients, with regular interactions with faculty from Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Pathology. Drs. Amling, Koppie and LaRochelle are members of the prestigious OHSU Knight Cancer Institute , one of only 61 designated centers of the National Cancer Institute - and the only one between Sacramento and Seattle. We are dedicated to providing the most promising treatments for our patients and advancing research in Urologic cancers. We are involved in numerous cooperative and national clinical trials.
