Sixth Annual Gained in Translation Summit Meeting 2015
Saturday, October 24, 2015
OHSU Casey Eye Institute, in collaboration with the Departments of Ophthalmology at University of Washington and University of British Columbia, will host the sixth annual Gained in Translation summit meeting on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the Casey Eye Institute.
Gained in Translation has become the Northwest's premiere clinical and basic vision science meeting. The meeting has a unique format, where each hour is spent on a clinical topic. Discussion of each topic is split between clinicians and basic scientists, and will involve unmet clinical needs along with ways in which recent research may address that need. The Pacific Northwest has a strong infrastructure in translational vision research. Goals of this conference are to raise awareness of ongoing work in these areas, and to foster collaborations among clinicians and scientists. Last year the meeting in Seattle drew over 100 ophthalmologists and vision scientists from around the region.
There will be 7 hours of didactic content across a range of subjects in ophthalmology including genetics, pediatric ophthalmology, retina, ocular imaging, clinical trials, and glaucoma. The evening will end with a wine and cheese reception.
