Maisie L. Shindo, M.D., F.A.C.S., is the surgical director of OHSU’s Thyroid and Parathyroid Center. She is a head and neck cancer surgeon with expertise in thyroid tumors and nodules, and parathyroid tumors. She has gained national recognition for her work in thyroid cancer surgery and minimally invasive parathyroid surgery. She completed a fellowship in head and neck oncology at Northwestern University Hospital.
Ryan J. Li, M.D. is a surgeon with expertise in thyroid and parathyroid conditions, including a deep interest in treating aggressive thyroid cancers. He offers exceptional experience in minimally invasive parathyroid surgery and in microvascular reconstructive surgery. He also has expertise in a robotic technique for neck surgery. He completed a fellowship in microvascular reconstruction at Stanford University.
James Lim, M.D., is a surgical oncologist whose expertise includes thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal and neuroendocrine diseases. He is highly trained in minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Lim completed a fellowship in endocrine surgery at Columbia University Medical Center.
Lourdes Quintanilla-Dieck, M.D., is a pediatric otolaryngologist who focuses on treating thyroid and parathyroid cancers in children and adults, and voice disorders in children. She also performs ultrasounds and ultrasound-guided thyroid biopsies. Dr. Quintanilla-Dieck completed a fellowship in pediatric otolaryngology at Vanderbilt University.
Peter E. Andersen, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a head and neck surgeon. He is also an expert in nonsurgical treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation, and in reconstructive and rehabilitation techniques. Dr. Anderson completed a fellowship in head and neck surgery and oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Daniel Robert Clayburgh, M.D., Ph.D., F.A.C.S., is a head and neck surgeon. His expertise includes thyroid and parathyroid surgery, otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat) and minimally invasive skull base surgery. He is an expert in a type of robotic neck surgery. Dr. Clayburgh completed a fellowship in advanced head and neck surgical oncology at the University of Pittsburgh.
Dana Madison, M.D., Ph.D., is the medical director of OHSU’s Thyroid and Parathyroid Center. He is an endocrinologist who monitors and treats thyroid cancer. His research interests include the molecular workings of how tumors spread. Dr. Madison completed a fellowship in endocrinology at OHSU.
Mary H. Samuels, M.D. is an endocrinologist whose clinical and research interests include pituitary tumors, thyroid disorders, thyroid cancer and diabetes. After receiving her medical degree from Harvard Medical School, Dr. Samuels completed her residency and a fellowship in endocrinology at the University of Colorado.
Kathryn Schuff, M.D., M.C.R., is an endocrinologist who specializes in thyroid cancer and diabetes. Her research is aimed at improving the diagnosis and treatment of pituitary and thyroid tumors, Cushing syndrome and pituitary hormone deficiencies. Dr. Schuff heads OHSU’s Institutional Review Board, which monitors and approves biomedical and behavioral research involving people. She completed a fellowship in endocrinology at OHSU.
Olga Senashova, M.D., is an endocrinologist with expertise in thyroid cancer. She completed a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at OHSU.
John M. Holland, M.D., is a radiation oncologist, a doctor who treats cancer with radiation therapy. Dr. Holland, who focuses on head, neck and thoracic tumors, completed his residency at the University of California-San Francisco.
Voice and speech (laryngology)
Paul W. Flint, M.D., is a laryngologist, a type of otolaryngologist who specializes in voice and speech disorders. He also focuses on head and neck cancer. His research interests include gene therapy for voice box (larynx) paralysis to help nerves regenerate, and the use of micro-robotics in voice box surgery. Dr. Flint completed a fellowship at Guy’s Hospital in London.
Joshua Schindler, M.D., is a laryngologist, an otolaryngologist who specializes in voice and speech disorders. His clinical and research interests include voice, swallowing and breathing disorders, and vocal cord cancers and disorders. Dr. Schindler completed a fellowship in head and neck surgery at Johns Hopkins University.
