Christopher Corless, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Corless received his M.D. and Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. He did his residency training in anatomic pathology at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, Mass., where he also completed fellowships in gastrointestinal and genitourinary pathology. Dr. Corless is board certified in anatomic pathology. He joined the faculty of Oregon Health & Science University in 1994 and became professor of pathology in 2004.
Dr. Corless has served as the residency program director in the Department of Pathology and medical director of surgical pathology for OHSU Hospital. In addition to practicing surgical pathology, Dr. Corless has expertise in applying molecular diagnostics to the classification and prognostication of solid tumors. He has a longstanding research interest in gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), as well as in bringing new technologies into clinical use. Dr. Corless has authored or coauthored more than 200 publications.
Jeff Fossatti joined the Knight Diagnostic Laboratories as Finance Manager in March, 2011. Prior to joining the laboratory, he worked as a Senior Financial Analyst, supporting OHSU's Information Technology Group. His career has spanned more than 15 years, working in a variety of problem-solving roles, including healthcare and high tech industries.
Mr. Fossatti’s background includes cost accounting, financial modeling, inventory management, variance analysis and manufacturing finance. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Santa Clara University.
Denise A. Higgins
Client Services Manager
Denise Higgins joined OHSU Knight Diagnostic Laboratories in August 2012 as Manager of Client Services. In this role, she is responsible for comprehensive client services activities, including specimen processing, customer relations, case management, and outreach in support of strategic collaborations with health care and industry partners.
Denise came to KDL with more than 20 years of leadership, management and systems experience, including academic medical center management, health care business development and strategic planning, physician referral network development, patient referral analysis and forecasting, finance and accounting oversight, customer relationship management system development, clinical operations management, and non-profit and philanthropic organization leadership. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and Public Relations from the University of Oregon, and a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Administration from the Oregon Health & Science University.
