Head & Neck Cancer Screening
OHSU and the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute recommend that you get an oral cancer screening examination every three years if you:
- are age 50 or older; and you have a history of smoking 12½ or more packs of cigarettes per year, even if you no longer smoke.
- are age 50 or older; and you have used smokeless tobacco for 15 years or more.
Even if you do not fit into either of these categories, you should still talk to your doctor about whether to have a screening exam.
