Cancer registries are databases of cancer information that are used for research. They offer people the chance to participate in research that helps find new cancer treatments and cures. Registries also give researchers valuable data on how cancer works.
This registry is an observational database designed to obtain information on the types of treatment that patients with GIST receive. It will provide treating doctors with information regarding the management of their patients with GIST compared with the total experience of all doctors participating in the registry. Data collected includes patient demographics, clinical characteristics, previous and current medical care provided to treat their cancer and clinical and economic outcomes.
This registry is sponsored by Novartis.
