National Research Partnerships

The OHSU Knight Cancer Institute participates in national, international and regional research partnerships. For our patients, this means greater access to clinical trials. For doctors and researchers, it offers the opportunity to participate in cancer research on a national and international level to find new treatments faster.

National Cancer Institute

The OHSU Knight Cancer Institute is the only National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated center between Sacramento and Seattle – which is an honor earned only by the nation’s top cancer centers. It comprises some 200 clinical researchers, basic scientists and population scientists who work together to translate scientific discoveries into longer and better lives for Oregon's cancer patients. In the lab, basic scientists examine cancer cells and normal cells to uncover molecular abnormalities that cause the disease. This basic science informs more than 300 clinical trials conducted at the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute.
