Biography
Jillian is actively interested in psychosocial obstetrics and gynecology (women's mental health), and is currently Director of Mental Health for the OHSU Center for Women's Health. Mental health care is her second career- she was a nurse in women's health for 13 years before attending Portland State University's Social Work Graduate Program, where she received her counseling credential. Her clinical interests are in sexuality, perinatal mood disorders, bereavement and loss, couples therapy and physician-patient communication and relationships. She is committed to mind-body therapies, and has studied with Jon Kabat-Zinn. She co-directs (with Dr. Anne Nedrow) the Wellness program for the Center for Women's Health. She is a past president of the North American Society for Psychosocial Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is on the Executive Council of the American Balint Society.
