Biography
Dr. Phillipi, along with her pediatric hospitalist colleagues, provides consultation for management of children with acute illnesses and accepts transfers if care cannot be managed in the local community. She and her colleagues pride themselves on excellent communication with PCPS to optimize continuity of care. Dr. Phillipi’s research interests involve the management of common pediatric illnesses such as urinary tract infection. She is participating in a nationwide effort to try to determine if prophylactic antibiotics are useful in children with urinary tract infection and vesicoureteral reflux. Carrie is also interest in applied research and quality improvement; for example, utilizing information to develop care protocols which enhance patient outcomes. She is participating in a national effort to improve asthma care throughout the state of Oregon.
