Biography

Dr. Pereira was born in Brazil, but grew up in Philadelphia, where he completed medical school at the University of Pennsylvania in 1997. He finished a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Pennsylvania Hospital in 2001 and a fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University in maternal-fetal medicine in 2004. Dr. Pereira is interested in the care of women and children in developing nations, and is actively involved in research in mother and infant mortality in Zimbabwe, Africa. He has published on obstetric ultrasound, the management of fetal anemia (Rh disease) and obstetric care of pregnant mothers with spinal cord injuries.
