Biography
Dr. Orfanakis is an Anesthesiologist and Critical Care physician with special interests in Neuroanesthesia and Neurocritical care. Dr. Orfanakis graduated from The Colorado College with a degree in biochemistry. She went on to graduate from the University of Colorado Medical School in 2005. Dr. Orfanakis completed a residency in Anesthesiology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She returned to her hometown of Portland, Oregon for a fellowship in Critical Care at OHSU. In 2010 she joined the faculty at OHSU in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. She divides her time between her practice of Anesthesiology in the operating suites and her practice of Critical Care Medicine as part of the Neurocritical Care Team. Dr. Orfanakis has research interests in cerebral vasospasm following subarachnoid hemorrhage and coagulopathy and hemostasis. When she is not in the hospital she can be found spending time with her husband and their two French bulldogs.
