Biography
With a background in cell biology and genetics, a Master's in corneal physiology and contact lens/tear film interactions and a residency in contact lenses, I have worked to establish a full time medical/specialty contact lens practice for referral or consultation of challenging contact lens patients. The daily practice schedule generally includes several keratoconus, penetrating keratoplasty, post LASIK ectasia, and traumatic injury cases ranging in age from 2 months to 98 years. Fitting sets ranging from prosthetic soft contact lenses to scleral gas permeable contact lenses ensure that most patients will have diagnostic trial lens testing, visual potential and fitting characteristics assessed on their first visit. Close relationships with local and national GP labs ensure quick turnaround and dispensing. My position on the Gas Permeable Lens Institute (GPLI) advisory committee also ensures that I am fully up to date on the most recent industry news and lens designs. Local and national lecturing and publications as well as maintain close ties to many researchers in the contact lens field help to provide the latest developments to you and your patients. With fully integrated instrumentation, including Orbscan, Pentacam, ORA, Visante, anterior segment cameras and electronic health records, I am happy to co-manage cases and ensure that you are up to date with the latest developments of your referred patients. I will work diligently to ensure these patients return to your clinics for routine visits or acute problems should this be your preference and be a productive member of your patient's eye health care team.
