Biography
Cynthia L. Kleinegger, D.D.S., M.S. earned her doctor of dental surgery degree from the University of Colorado in 1990. She then completed a one-year General Practice Residency at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Denver, Colorado and became a Fellow in the American Association of Hospital Dentists. Prior to pursuing specialty training, she associated in a general dental practice and was Clinical Instructor in the Department of Oral Diagnostic Sciences at the University of Colorado School of Dentistry. Dr. Kleinegger completed the Advanced Education Program in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and a Masters of Science degree in Stomatology at the University of Iowa in 1995. Upon completion of her training, she joined the faculty of the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry. She returned to the University of Iowa in 1996 where she was on the faculty for nine years. During this time she became a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Director of the Advanced Education Program in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. In September 2005, she joined the faculty of Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry as an associate professor in the Department of Pathology and Radiology. Her clinical practice focuses on mucosal diseases, non-odontogenic head and neck pain and salivary gland dysfunction, and she has presented numerous CE courses on these subjects. Her research has focused on oral mucosal diseases.
