Leah Wilson is a second generation Alaskan, born and raised in Juneau, Alaska. She attended Washington State University where she earned a B.S. in Biotechnology. After undergrad, she went to Bethesda, Maryland where she spent 2.5 years at the National Institutes of Health working on Type I Diabetes research. She attended medical school at the University of Washington. She spent her first year of med school in Anchorage, AK with the WWAMI program. Leah’s career interests include general Internal Medicine and possibly an Endocrinology fellowship to continue her interest in the field of diabetes, possibly including research and academic medicine into her career. She was married in 2011 to James Elgee, who is also from Alaska. He works in computer programming and will telecommute for his Seattle company after moving to Portland. Leah loves to run with their 3 year?old black lab mix, Taku, as well as hike, camp, cross?country ski, cook, try new restaurants and read food blogs. Oregon has long been a beloved vacation spot where much of Leah's extended family lives.
