Dr. Butler and her partners serve all the general surgical needs of children, from newborns through adolescents. They provide urgent care for problems such as appendicitis, intussusception, and pyloric stenosis, and work with OHSU trauma surgeons to care for acutely injured children. The Pediatric Surgery team works closely with their colleagues in other specialties, providing consultation for problems such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, gastroesophageal reflux, pectus excavatum, inguinal and umbilical hernias, blood disorders, and cancers. They also provide prenatal counseling for potential surgical conditions found in the fetus.

Dr. Butler's clinical interests include:

  • Minimal access surgery (thoracoscopy, laparoscopy, and other endoscopic procedures)
  • Thyroid and parathyroid surgery
  • Newborn surgery
  • Cancer surgery
