Dr. Bengtzen completed her BA degree at Harvard University, she then went on to Emory University School of Medicine for medical school. She moved to Oregon for her emergency medicine residency at OHSU where she served as a chief resident. She then stayed on for her sports medicine fellowship training in the family medicine department at OHSU. Her interests include caring for athletes of all ages and experience levels. She enjoys helping patients return to active lifestyles and in preventing injuries. Her academic interests are in education, sideline response to sports emergencies, and ultrasound guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Dr. Bengtzen volunteers as team physician at local schools (college and high school) and sporting events. Dr. Bengtzen was a youth soccer national champion, and played Division I college soccer. She continues to play recreationally, and additionally enjoys photography, traveling, and cooking.
