Biography

Dr. Freeman is a clinical psychologist who is fellowship trained in health psychology. She practiced in Virginia for 18 years before moving to Portland in 2002. Her areas of specialty are working with health care providers and their families and the psychological aspects of medical illness. She was on the community faculties of Eastern Virginia Medical School and The College of William and Mary. She has lectured to local, state and national medical groups on physician wellness and the medical marriage. In Norfolk and Virginia Beach, Dr. Freeman was a member of the Burn Trauma Team, the Diabetes Treatment Center, the Sleep Disorders Laboratory, and the Beriatrics Team. She has developed and presented programs for nursing, emergency medical staff, physician departments and community health organizations. She was a co-author of "Breast Cancer: A Psychological Treatment Manual," published by the American Psychological Association. She also served on a national task force to develop a curriculum for primary care psychology.
