Dr. Ehst received his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago and then enrolled in the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Minnesota, where he completed both his doctorate in immunology and his medical degree. Dr. Ehst's dermatology residency training was accomplished at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. During his residency training, Dr. Ehst also worked as a postdoctoral research fellow investigating the immune response to vector-borne infectious disease and served briefly as a visiting resident physician in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Dr. Ehst is a general medical dermatologist with specific interests in psoriasis and infectious diseases, including HIV. He is the Director of Medical Dermatology, the Center of Excellence for Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis, and is the Dermatology Director of the HIV Clinic. Dr. Ehst also is the principal investigator of various clinical trials.
Dr. Ehst has published in several peer-reviewed journals, has spoken at national conferences, and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Society for Investigative Dermatology and the Oregon Dermatology Society.
