Biography
After graduating in 1975 from the nurse-midwifery program at the University of Mississippi in Jackson, Linda worked in rural Mississippi and in rural North Carolina, where she obtained a Master of Public Health degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill with a specialty in maternal/child health and program planning. She co-founded the first birth center and the first legal home birth practice in NC. Linda obtained a Master of Nursing degree from OHSU with a speciality as a psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner in 1991. Linda has been a faculty member at OHSU since 1988 and continues to provide private home birth services. She has one son, Nathan, and she enjoys reading, cooking and learning in her spare time.
