Biography

Dr. Friess specializes in orthopaedic trauma care, including all fractures and dislocations of upper and lower extremities as well as the pelvis. He has advanced training in treating these injuries both acutely and chronically for injuries that have not healed appropriately, i.e., nonunions or malunions. He has a special interest in treating infected fractures. Due to the acute nature of most fractures and dislocations, Dr. Friess is always receptive to a page, phone call or email about a patient referral, and prefers to adjust his schedule to get injured patients into clinic or the hospital as soon as possible.

His specialized research focuses on multicenter trials of fracture healing, early weight bearing after fracture surgery and musculoskeletal infection.
