Biography

Dr. Conlin specializes in minimally invasive urology, surgical and medical treatment of patients with kidney stones, and laparoscopic urology. Dr. Conlin enjoys practicing urology at OHSU where research and resident education contribute to a setting conducive to excellence in patient care. "My goal is to provide expert and compassionate care to patients with complicated urologic problems," he said. Dr. Conlin received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in 1989. He completed his Urology residency at Oregon Health & Science University and his Endourology fellowship at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia.

Dr. Conlin specializes in the minimally invasive treatment of patients with urologic problems such as urolithiasis, UPJ obstruction, transitional cell carcinoma of the ureter and renal pelvis, and kidney cancer. He is a recognized expert, innovator, and teacher of minimally invasive procedures including laparoscopic nephrectomy, laparoscopic partial nephrectomy, laparoscopic pyeloplasty, ureteroscopic laser lithotripsy, ureteroscopic ablation of upper tract tumors, ureteroscopic endopyelotomy, and percutaneous nephrostolithotomy. He also provides evaluation and management of men with voiding difficulties, including minimally invasive treatments such as photovaprorization of the prostate (PVP), and transurethral microwave thermotherapy (TUMT) with the Prolieve device.

Dr. Conlin lectures around the world teaching endourology techniques to other urologists. He is an Associate Professor of Urology and has a joint appointment with the Dotter Interventional Institute. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society as a resident in 1994, and has been designated one of the “Best Doctors in America” since 2003. He is an active member of many related medical societies, has authored over 50 articles, 7 medical videos, is a reviewer for multiple urology journals, and is assistant editor of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Endoscopy. Dr. Conlin is the residency program director for the OHSU urology residency program and interim Head of the Division of Urology and Renal Transplantation.
