About OHSU
Since its inception over 100 years ago, OHSU has recognized the value and importance of physician-to-physician relationships in the healing process. As Oregon’s only academic health center, we are committed to partnering with physicians from across the region to care for patients with the most basic to the most difficult health challenges.
We are also offer continuing medical education. In 2008, providers participated 20,800 times in CME offerings. In addition to the sharing of knowledge, these activities help to bring practitioners together, to partner in providing the latest technologies and treatments.
Through our Physician Referral Line, we provide a peer-to-peer clinical consult and tertiary referral program, including 24-hour, toll-free telephone access for practitioners across Oregon. The service received nearly 24,000 calls last year, with more than half the calls coming from rural providers.
