Sakai Course Management System

Online Collaboration and Learning

Sakai is the name of OHSU's online course management system.  Sakai is a suite of useful web-based tools supporting communication and collaboration.  It is used by more than 200 OHSU courses every term to distribute course materials, provide course announcements, submit assignments online and provide collaborative workspace.  It can be accessed from any computer that has an Internet connection and a web browser, enabling students and educators to connect from across the globe.

Local Support

OHSU's Sakai software is supported by the Sakai Help Desk.  We offer technical and user support seven days a week: Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Pacific Time and weekends and holidays from noon until 5 p.m. Pacific Time. You can contact us using our web-based form, or via e-mail at, or by phone at 1-877-972-5249.

Sakai Helpdesk Service Level Description

The Sakai Help Desk is available for users to report technical issues related to course site functionality. Whenever possible, the Help Desk staff resolves problems quickly. Requests that are non-technical in nature, or which require technical engineering, may be referred to the appropriate instructors, designers or technical experts. Non-urgent or complex requests, especially related to course building, will be resolved during regular office hours due to limited help desk staff on evenings and weekends.

The Sakai Help Desk also provides OHSU faculty, staff and students with just-in-time guidance for Sakai tool use. Want to learn how to upload files, link documents and websites or generate tests and quizzes? We are happy to train faculty and support staff to become independent users.

Put Your Course On Sakai
