Young Worker Video Contest

01/26/12  Portland, Ore.

Public Service Announcement video contest for High School students

Oregon high school students have until February 1, 2012 to create a 45-second public service announcement video promoting young worker safety and health. The top three entries will take home cash prizes ($500, $400, and $300) and will earn a matching amount for their school.

This video contest is designed to increase teen on-the-job safety awareness using the overall theme "Save a friend. Work safe." Students are encouraged to develop a key message or slogan, use humor, and get creative while emphasizing ways to protect themselves (and their friends) at work.

The Young Worker Video Contest is sponsored by the Oregon Young Employee Safety Coalition – O[yes]. Oregon OSHA partnered with several stakeholder groups to form O[yes], with a mission to prevent young worker injuries and fatalities and raise awareness about on-the-job safety.

Rules and entry forms are available on the Oregon OSHA website.
