Refuel At Noon: Re-focusing using mindfulness

Mondays from 12:15-12:45 p.m. in the basement of Baird Hall, Room 6

Evidence shows that mindfulness is effective in reducing stress in various situations such as chronic worrying, fears of failure and dealing with frustration. We will make the time in a quiet, soothing place to observe thoughts and feelings in ways that enhance self-reflection and self-care. *Light snack provided.

Personal Safety Workshop

Thursday, April 17th from 12-1 p.m. in the Old Library, Room 217

Discussion is designed to help people identify their risks and evaluate their strengths, and to explore their options for dealing with the threat of violence. In this safety workshop, emphasis will be placed on;

  • Identifying prevention strategies if faced with a dangerous situation
  • Exploring intuition as a safety tool
  • Understanding and practicing boundary setting skills
  •  Learning various escape options

This WomenStrength Personal Safety Workshop:

  • Is for any adult (men and women welcome)
  • Does not include any physical self-defense skills
  • Will be discussion based, so come with questions
