Prospective Students
OHSU offers over 35 programs for students to gain research and clinical experience. Visit OHSU's education website for more information. OHSU also has opportunities to volunteer in various settings in the hospital.
In conjunction with OHSU’s outreach programs, the Center for Diversity & Multicultural Affairs (CeDMA) assists prospective students who are interested in pursuing OHSU degree program, particularly offering assistance to students who are disadvantaged and/or underrepresented in health and science careers.
Some of the services offered include:
Academic advising – CeDMA partners with health and science advisors/counselors of universities and colleges and community organizations to identify prospective students. Advisors, community organizations, and others may schedule visits with CeDMA staff. Students may also participate in the program by contacting CeDMA directly. Student Resources are offered to participants of the advising program may use materials such as MCAT, DAT, GRE, etc. CeDMA also maintains scholarship lists and other informational resources for students interested in the health and sciences.
Enrichment Programs – CeDMA Programs include: Equity Summer Research and the Annual Multicultural Health and Science Career Conference. The Ted R. Lilley Cancer CURE program provides hands-on laboratory experience in cancer research for high school juniors.
