2014 marks the year that OHSU opened its brand new, state of the art simulation facilities.
In the spring of 2014, two new floors dedicated to simulation activities opened in the Collaborative Life Sciences Building (CLSB) on OHSU's South Waterfront campus. The focus of this center is to train learners in teamwork, communication, and clinical skills.
Later, in the summer of 2014, the VirtuOHSU Simulation and Surgical Training Center opened in Richard Jones Hall on OHSU's Marquam Hill campus. The focus of this center is to train learners in technical skills, invasive procedures, and clinical anatomy.
This newly developed 27,000+ square feet of simulation spaces further evidences OHSU's commitment to the training and education of interprofessional teams. Simulation offerings will grow in support of learners ranging from undergraduate nursing students, to predoctoral medical and dental students, to residents and practicing health care providers, at OHSU and in the community.
OHSU Simulation also works with and supports many local Simulation and Clinical Learning Centers across the state of Oregon.
