OHSU School of Nursing: Shriner's Orientation

Shriners
Continuing OHSU nursing students with clinical at Shriners Hospital for Children will need complete all requirements linked below.  Students will need to bring up-to-date clinical passport on the first day of clinical and give it to your faculty.

Parking at Shriners
As of June 6, 2008, in order to allow enough parking to patients and families, Shriners will provide parking for 2 cars for clinical students.  Excess cars will result in loss of privileges to park in their facility.

SHRINERS HOSPITAL ORIENTATION POLICY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Items to complete prior to Shriners Computer Training:

  1.  Watch DVD/online stream (please download RealPlayer to view).
  2. Read the linked documents, then sign and date the hospital orientation checklist.  Students need to return this to their faculty before going to Shriners computer training.
  3. Print, sign and date Workforce Member Confidentiality Agreement and return to faculty.

Complete the Shriners HIPAA training online following the instructions which will be sent to your OHSU email account by the Nursing Education office of Shriners Hospital for Children. Print the completion certificate and return to faculty.

Clinical Orientation Manual:
The clinical orientation manual consists of documents that you will use either daily or need to review depending on clinical situation.
