Pathways into the B.S. Degree at OHSU for OCNE transition students
Pathways are available depending on the course delivery options (on campus or online) or by full time or part time status. Two transition pathways are available. Please see each option below to see which pathway will be right for you.
Pre-AAS Graduation Transfer to OHSU: Courses offered at Portland or Ashland Campuses: Spring Entry Only:
Students on this pathway would:
- Transfer from their Community College to OHSU in the spring term of their second year of nursing coursework. They would transfer before completing the AAS and would not yet be eligible for NCLEX.
- Take classes on the Portland or Ashland campus with a full time program of study and have clinical coursework in those areas.
- Finish the B.S. nursing courses in 4 quarters and have the summer off between the 2nd and third year.
- May need to complete required non-nursing courses while taking the nursing courses.

Post-AAS Graduation Transfer to OHSU: Courses offered online with occasional real-time webinars and one two-day in-person conference (at the end of NRS 410): Spring and Fall Entry
Students on this pathway would:
- Complete their AAS at their Community College Partner School and would be NCLEX eligible.
- Must have an RN license in Oregon for clinical coursework.
- Transfer NRS224 Integrative Practicum to OHSU for 9 credits of upper division nursing coursework.
- Take classes online and would have mentored clinical experiences in an appropriate site in their geographical area (across Oregon).
- Would typically finish the B.S. nursing courses in up to 6 quarters as a part-time student or 4 quarters as a full-time student.
- May need to complete required non-nursing courses while taking the nursing courses or after completion of the nursing courses.
