Personal Interests:

My interests revolve around my family and my community. I am an Oregonian by birth and I have lived in rural Vernonia for +17 years. I am interested in how communities become and stay healthy through drafting public policies that facilitate improved health outcomes. Rural practice is very different than serving other populations of patients and I am enthusiastic about building bridges in my home community that can enhance the health of our community. From here, I am interested in staying involved in national health policy at the State and Federal levels. I want to be part of that change in nursing that takes us from the bedside to Capitol Hill to affect change for our patients. In short, I want to be a savvy, and sage FNP, but also a skilled leader that can flourish in the policy/leadership venues for my patients and nursing as a profession. One of my favorite pastimes is watching high school football games at home in Vernonia in the autumn. The whole town turns out on Friday night to watch our kids and kin in the community demonstrate the spirit of the LOGGERS.
