As a pediatric and family nurse practitioner, I am committed to providing primary health care to underserved rural, minority, and inner city populations . I've worked for many years in school based health centers, rural clinics, a migrant health center, public health clinics and a child abuse evaluation center. As a fluent Spanish speaker, I've had the opportunity to volunteer for clinics in indigenous communities in Mexico. Global health is a particular interest of mine, especially issues of child abuse and neglect. I am passionate about educating advanced practice nurses and other medical professionals, and have taught physical assessment, health promotion, primary care management, and lifespan development while at OHSU SON.
