My focus as a nurse educator is to hasten novice nurses' competence through simulation. My current research interest is concerned with expert modeling videos and voice over PowerPoint used as simulation preparation methods improve novice nurses' competence and self-efficacy for providing care to multiple patients above and beyond the effect of reading assignments which represent "usual" care in simulation preparation. I have data from a pilot three-group randomized control trial that I hope to disseminate through publications. I am dedicated to developing an evidence base for simulation pedagogy in nursing education.
