My practice philosophy is grounded in the science of nursing. I provide holistic treatment planning addressing all aspects of an individual considering their biological, psychological and social/environmental needs. Mental health treatment is a process that requires knowledge and collaboration. I firmly believe in involving patients and parents/guardians in decision making about their care. I focus on relapse prevention to reduce the risk of future mental health problems. I bring these philosophies to my teaching as well as a strong focus on Evidenced Based Practices.

I have been involved in mental health and the healthcare field since 1997. As a PMHNP, I have worked with children, adolescents and adults in a private practice setting and with youth in a community mental health setting. I also have experience working with youth in in-patient hospital settings.

I am nationally board certified as a Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, accredited to treat clients across the lifespan. In addition to other therapy modalities I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral approaches and Collaborative Problem Solving. I am licensed as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Oregon and as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in Washington.
