Janice Christensen, B.S. '67
Former Gresham resident Janice Lucile Christensen died Saturday, Aug. 6. She was 70. A service was held. Jan was born April 14, 1941, in Wallace, Idaho, to Jacob and Lucile Repp, the oldest of six children. The family moved around the Pacific Northwest before settling in Thompson Falls, Mont. She graduated from high school as valedictorian of her class and attended Lutheran Bible Institute in Seattle. She then studied nursing at Emanuel Hospital and Oregon Health and Science University. Jan met Rolf Christensen at Lutheran Bible Institute, and they were married Sept. 18, 1965. Jan worked as a registered nurse at Allergy Associates in the Gresham/Troutdale office for nearly 30 years. Jan enjoyed music and was the church organist at several Lutheran churches in the Portland area. She also played piano and sang for weddings. Her other interests included Bible study, travel, sewing, swimming, cooking and gardening. Survivors include her husband, of Oregon City; daughters, Debbie Brent of Oregon City, Diane Lewis of San Marcos, Calif., and Dawn Christensen of Seattle; sisters, Karen White of Raleigh, N.C., Barbara Rafter of Spokane, Wash., Sylvia Urhausen of Chattaroy, Wash., and Carol Kimble of Moscow, Idaho; brothers, Jimm Repp of Spokane, Gene Repp of Spokane and Jack Repp of Hayden Lake, Idaho; and four grandchildren.
