Geriatric Nursing Leadership Academy (GNLA)
Geriatric Nursing Leadership Academy (GNLA) is a national program funded by the Hartford Foundation to Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) to develop leadership capacity in geriatric nurses who are engaged in clinical practice. The GNLA mentors are nurses committed to transforming geriatric care.
The GNLA is an 18-month mentored leadership development experience offered by STTI. The blended curriculum provides many methodologies for developing leadership knowledge and competence with a focus on individual leadership development; advancing nursing practice through leadership of an interprofessional team; and an organizational scope of influence and impact on local, regional and national levels. Six GNLA scholars and former STTI program directors now live in Oregon and most are working to create an Oregon Leadership program through the Gero Convergence.
Pioneer Network is a center for all stakeholders in the field of aging and long term care whose focus is on providing home and community for elders. Stakeholders believe that the quality of life and living for America's elders is rooted in a supportive community and cemented by relationships that respect each of us as individuals regardless of age, medical condition or limitations. Pioneer Network’s partners and audience are primarily engaged in some aspect of long-term care including long-term care CEOs and administrators, consumers and family caregivers, doctors, nurses, dietitian nutritionists, direct care providers, and others who care about, and care for, the aging.
National Council on Aging (NCOA)
National Council on Aging (NCOA) is a nonprofit service and advocacy organization headquartered in Washington, DC. The NCOA is a national voice for older Americans and the community organizations that serve them. The NCOA brings together nonprofit organizations, businesses, and government to develop creative solutions that improve the lives of all older adults.
Western Institute of Nursing Gerontology Special Interest Group (WINGSIG)
Western Institute of Nursing Gerontology Special Interest Group (WINGSIG) welcomes all WIN members who have a commitment to building the science, education, and practice of caring for older adults. WINGSIG actively promotes the advancement of gerontological nursing science through nursing practice, research, education and public policy.
