2011/2012 Resident Retirement Performance Enhancement Goals
We are pleased to announce the finalized House Officer Retirement Bonus Incentive Goals for the 2011-2012 year. You may have recently learned about a hospital-wide quality improvement initiative focusing on improving staff compliance with proper hand hygiene technique, known as the Five Moments of Hand Hygiene. In keeping with trends from years past, this year's incentive will be tied to resident performance and quality improvement in TWO metrics.
1.Residents will demonstrate proper hand hygiene usage in 95% of patient encounters in accordance with the 5 Moments of Hand Hygiene Campaign, beginning October 2nd and continuing through May.
2.Residents will continue to submit 7% of Patient Safety Net Reports averaged over the course of the year
Over the next few weeks, each department will have a brief presentation about the 5 Moments of Hand Hygiene and about the methods by which our participation is observed and evaluated.
The total benefit for attaining these very achievable goals is approximately $1300 deposited into your IRA account at the end of the year.Throughout the year, you will be receiving regular updates on our progress, and we encourage your participation in this endeavor which will enhance both the quality of patient care and your personal safety through development of good hygiene habits.
If you have any questions or want to know more, feel free to contact us by email.
