Meet The Assistant Dean
Dr. Brunett is the Assistant Dean for Graduate Medical Education in the OHSU School of Medicine. Dr. Brunett is Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine, EM Residency Program Director, and Section Chief for Education at OHSU's Department of Emergency Medicine.
He received his undergraduate degree from UCLA and his MD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He is the current Chair of the School of Medicine Curriculum Committee. Dr. Brunett is a graduate of the American College of Emergency Physicians Teaching Fellowship and has served on the Council of EM Residency Directors (CORD) Academic Assembly Program and the Ethics in Resident Recruitment Task Force.
Dr. Brunett was instrumental in creating the EM Education Research Fellowship at OHSU and has expanded his program's use of evidence-based medicine and medical simulation as educational tools. He has been recognized with the School of Medicine's Faculty Mentor of the Year Award and Faculty Excellence in Education Award, the CORD Impact Award, and twice as his department's Academic Instructor of the Year.
