The 9th Annual Pediatric Review & Update will be held in conjunction with Mental Health in Pediatric and Adolescent Practice on Saturday, April 5, 2014.
This course is designed for pediatricians, family physicians, and allied health professionals. It will focus on practical approaches to problems commonly seen in the office, as well as effective methods for improving the pediatric office visit. The course will allow maximum interaction between participants and faculty through question and answer sessions and small group interactive sessions and the use of audience response technology. A course syllabus including outlines of presentations will be available to all preregistered attendees.
At the conclusion of this course, participants should:
Have an in-depth understanding of the issues related to translating health reform standards into practice
Recognize and medically manage childhood conditions commonly presenting to the primary care provider’s office including sleep issues, male genitourinary issues, pyelonephritis, child maltreatment and adolescent contraception
Have improved interpersonal and communication skills through the use of motivational interviewing and health literacy assessment
- Gain knowledge and skills in psychosocial/behavioral aspects of pediatrics including anxiety and the effect of media on children
