2014 marks the 21st Annual Internal Medicine Review, addressing new developments and topical issues in internal medicine for internists and others practicing primary care medicine. Featuring expert faculty from OHSU, plenary sessions will address new lipid guidelines, new hypertension guidelines, prostate cancer, most common consults, drug interactions and more.
Breakout sessions are more interactive and allow ample time for discussion with faculty. Topics include concussion in adults, opioid use, urogynecology, supplements and low back pain rehab concepts to name a few.
At the conclusion of this activity participants will be able to:
Discuss implications of recently-released new guidelines on lipid management and hypertension with their patients
Understand the risks and benefits of over-ordering diagnostic tests
Apply new techniques for rehabilitation for patients with low back pain
Manage the care of their patients who have had bariatric surgery
Include recommendations from the Choosing Wisely project in their care of patients with cardiovascular diagnoses
