Course Description

This program has been designed to explore the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions of the spine. Hands-on and interactive sessions will be held throughout the two-days,allowing attendees to practice what's being taught. Thursday will end with the popular "Name That Groan" panel, testing program faculty on how quickly they can identify musculoskeletal conditions, one symptom at a time. At the end of the day on Friday, it will be your most challenging cases for "The Consult Line" panelists –this multi-specialty group will spend time working to unknot your most confounding cases.

The program is designed for internists, family physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physical therapists and others who care for patients suffering from back pain. There will be time for interaction with the faculty, hands on exam techniques and opportunities to test your knowledge.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Evaluate complaints of back pain in its many forms with
  • Perform comprehensive physical exams in a limited amount of time
  • Generate differential diagnosis by using the algorithm provided
  • Select the proper tools for managing back pain, regardless of its cause
