OHSU

Research Mission

Dan Dorsa

As the state's only health and research university, OHSU's breakthrough research leads to new cures, new standards of care and a better understanding of health and the biomedical sciences.  OHSU researchers are exploring new basic, clinical and applied research frontiers, environmental and biomedical engineering and information sciences. Our university offers a rich landscape for biomedical research. A major hallmark is the array of multidisciplinary approaches researchers take to the most intractable problems in human health--including diseases of the central nervous system, cancer, rare genetic disorders, and infectious disease. In 2009, OHSU was awarded $307 million in outside funding for research & education.
