OHSU's programs offer world-class education for tomorrow's doctors, dentists and nurses; for scientists and engineers; and for a vast array of other healthcare professionals. Its schools, colleges and numerous continuing education programs create vibrant context for lifelong learning. And OHSU's mission to improve the health and well-being of all Oregonians instills in our students a commitment to serve the communities where they live and work. OHSU is Oregon's only academic health center and plays a vital role in educating the professionals who can meet the needs of the state and its citizens. The university continually assesses healthcare shortages in every region of the state. Based on those assessments, OHSU develops curricula and policies designed to improve the geographic distribution of healthcare professionals in Oregon.
