Gloria Harrison is the Administrative Coordinator and the Human Resources Coordinator for Public Health & Preventive Medicine. Originally from the desert Southwest, Gloria has been in Portland since 1999 and has three children.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily administrative operations
- Prepare and process all human resources related paperwork and maintain all related electronic and hard-copy files
- Develop the internal newsletter, including collecting data, editing content, and layout and design
- Edit journal articles and other professional documents to help faculty and researchers prepare their documents for submission
- Develop, provide content for, and maintain the department’s website and intranet
- Coordinate the editing, proofreading, printing, and distributions of department’s brochures and other advertising material in order to increase department’s visibility on and off campus
- Plan and coordinate department meetings and presentations, including monthly Grand Rounds and faculty meetings
- Attend the monthly faculty meetings. Compile and disseminate the faculty minutes. Archive the faculty agenda and minutes on the department’s intranet
- Plan and coordinate department events, including National Public Health Week each spring
- Provide technical and telephone support to the department as the Information Technology Contact
- Maintain and update affiliate faculty appointments, including setting up new positions, as well as regular position renewals
- Assist the P & T chair with the promotion and tenure process, including collecting all materials necessary for the P & T process, and timely electronic submission of the P & T package
