Mitch Greenlick Scholarship Fund

This fund was initially established with an endowment by Dr. Mitch Greenlick.  The Mitch Greenlick Public Health Scholarship is awarded to students who are committed to serving the health of under-represented minority communities or who show significant potential for contributing to public health science.

The Merwyn "Mitch" Greenlick scholarship was established in 2007. Named after current Oregon State Representative Mitch Greenlick, PhD, the scholarship celebrates his dedication to public health. Mitch continues to make a dramatic impact on the health of everyday people through policy, research, and practice.

Harold T. Osterud, M.D., MPH Scholarship Fund

The Osterud Fund helps to provide partial tuition assistance each year to all of the MD/MPH students studying for the MPH degree.

The Harold T. Osterud Scholarship Fund was named to honor Dr. Harold Osterud, former Professor Emeritus and chair of the Department.  Dr. Osterud was a champion of public health throughout his life and felt particularly strongly that the medical profession in general, and medical students in particular, should be a part of contributing to the health of the public as well as the health of their patients. It is thus very fitting that he should be honored in this way.

This fund was created to partially support travel costs for students who have had an abstract accepted for presentation at a public health conference.  Preference will be given to students who are committed to serving the health of under-represented minority communities and advancing public health in Oregon.  This scholarship was established in 2009.  Named after Katherine (Katie) Riley, Ed.D., longtime Director of Education and Director of the Epidemiology & Biostatistics track of the Oregon MPH program, this scholarship exemplifies her commitment to students and to the Epidemiology and Biostatistics track.

This fund supports research within the Department of Public Health and Preventative Medicine, including funding faculty and staff to travel to research meetings, and purchase research related supplies.

This fund helps support the Department's mission of teaching, research and services, including partial support of Department sponsored events (Public Health Week), travel for Faculty to attend professional meetings or community events related to public health.
