What is Public Health and Preventive Medicine?
Public Health is the science and practice of protecting and improving the health of a community, as by preventive medicine, health education, control of communicable diseases, application of sanitary measures, and monitoring of environmental hazards.
National Public Health Week
April 6-12 is National Public Health Week! This year's theme is Healthiest Nation 2030. Sponsored by the American Public Health Association (APHA), National Public Health Week aims to bring communities together, recognize contributions to public health and highlight important public health issues that affect our nation.
