7/29/10 George A. Keepers, MD selected a Director of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
I am pleased to announce that I have been selected to be a Director of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. My term will begin in 2011 with an orientation in October of this year. Typically directors serve 2 three-year terms. Because the oral board examination is being eliminated, I will not be recruiting a board examination team. I will continue to be a member of Dr. Schneidman's team and will attend the remain oral exams on that basis.
This is an exciting development for me and I could not be more pleased. The opportunity to contribute at the national level to furthering the excellence of our profession is very meaningful to me. I am particularly grateful to Barbara Schneidman and Jim Shore (chair of psychiatry here when I was a resident) who supported my nomination.
George A. Keepers, M.D.
